  • The 50 Biggest Movies of 2009!

    Have a look.

Watchmen and X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be out! Also Friday the 13th! And G.I. Joe! This will be good. I will get to watch these before the world ends in 2012 when the Mayan calendar finishes.

I like this entire Marvel revolution at the movies. Origins of Wolverine should kick ass. This is the preview of the plot from Wikipedia:

Set seventeen years before X-Men, the film will focus on Wolverine's violent past, and his early encounters with William Stryker (Danny Huston). The Weapon X program and his interactions with other mutants will be explored, including his complex relationship with Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber).

I was very much into Marvel growing up and it's great revisiting the past storylines.

From all that has been mentioned in this thread, I'm only in for Public Enemies. I haven't really been into any of Frank Miller's works but The Spirit seems better than the others because of Scarlett Johannson.

For 2009, I'm looking forward to seeing:

          Adoration (Atom Egoyan)
          Angels & Demons (Ron Howard)
New York, I Love You (Various Directors)
          Whatever Works (Woody Allen)
          Shutter Island (Martin Scorsese)
          Inglourious Basterds (Quentin Tarantino)
          The Lovely Bones (Peter Jackson)
          Nottingham (Ridley Scott)
          Tetro (Francis Ford Copolla)

It looks like most of my favorite directors are all releasing a film this coming year.

That list made me cringe. None are worth seeing on the big screen, maybe one or two will be worth a rental.

Oh, and another Dorian Gray adaptation, lol? It's been done so many times. And it's not going to be a blockbuster.

I can't believe they're making S.Darko, I was just gonna post a thread about it before I checked this one out. All I know is it's gonna be really awesome or awesomely horrible.

It'll probably be good, but people are sick of wolverine, or at least I am. There was enough of his general background from the last last 3 movies. They should have just made a 4th, especially after that whole cliff hanger ending.

The only ones I can see making you cringe are Angels & Demons (because you probably hate the topic), Whatever Works (because you hate Woody Allen), and possibly Nottingham (which I admit, can go either way).

I ought to slap you with a deflated balloon, Tom.
