I interpreted it as a system that continuously causes the downfall of society. Think politics, institutions like schools, etc.

Serj said that artistic freedom should allow everyone to interpret it their own way.

Downside of SOAD: I'd like to hear them sing in Armenian. Just once. I know they all speak Armenian. So why not write just one song in Armenian? They had a chance to sing Ter Voghormia on Toxicity, I believe (the hidden track at the end with Arto Tuncboyaciyan), but they only hum along. Now imagine something like "Sugar" in Armenian. "Shakar". Why not?

Since when? Why not their albums? I've never heard it. Then again, I've never been to their concert.

Well, that's something you'd have to ask a person who lives in Armenia, right?

What artists might do on stage, and on an album, differs for many reasons. What they do on stage, for certain events, might be for personal beliefs, for the fans sake.

Thank you for explaining the difference between an album and a concert, but that wasn't actually my question. When did SOAD start doing this? And what do they sing during their concerts? No bootlegs?

Am I the only one who finds it appalling that a group of drug addicts represent Armenians?

                  They are confirmed drug addicts?

I don't know how I feel about them. They are energetic on stage, I like the music, Serj has a nice voice, but, politically, I can't agree with them, & if they're druggies, that's not cool, either. I want them to be better representations, but, like Cher & Dr. Kavorkian -- they're American who just happen to be Armenian in blood. (And I know one or two of them were born IN Armenia, but, they were raised here & they're all citizens and influenced by here, are they not?) I think, and I could be wrong, they were influenced by the state of California and like all Americans, just want money. That is why I asked before (not knowing if anybody from Armenia is actually on this forum or if some of you have friends or family you talk to there), how are they perceived over IN Armenia? Are the Armenians actually PROUD that THESE men are famous and doing good for their country or do they regard them as Americans?

I don't know, I've heard they sing parts of old Armenian songs.

Actually, two were born in Lebanon. The singer and the drummer.

One was born in Armenia. The guy with the shaved head and narrow-long beard.

The other one that wears women clothing and is really messed up with drugs is born in the US.

True that they are American citizens and influenced, but I was born here and influenced as well, doesn't mean I do drugs.

They all do drugs, this is typical.

But seriously, the only people they really taught the story of the genocide are those rocker, goth, and so-called anarchist type people. I don't find them very useful, rather embarrassing.

I wish there were more Armenian actor-like celebrities that would help in a more classy manner.
