It's hard to remember names but you can't forget descriptions of these guys

Fortunately they moved past this look:

No, the one that wears weird eye shadow and makup is Daron. Shavo (long beard) is the bassit I believe.

In my opinion, I think they act more American than Armenian. They just happen to be Armenian who promote the Armenian Genocide.

Although I am also interested to find out how they are perceived in Armenia. Anyone know? Anyone from Armenia here?

Also, I am not saying these things to make Armenians dislike them. It's okay to like them and their music, I just find them not the best for promoting Armenian issues. Also they aren't good role models for young Armenians.

Edit: I didn't mean they promote the Armenian Genocide (that sounded bad), I meant they try to raise awareness.

True that they are American citizens and influenced, but I was born here and influenced as well, doesn't mean I do drugs.

They all do drugs, this is typical.

But seriously, the only people they really learned the story of the genocide are those rocker, goth, and so-called anarchist type people. I don't find them very useful, rather embarrassing.

I wish there were more Armenian actor-like celebrities that would help in a more classy manner.
Firstly, I thank you for refering to them by their descriptions & not their names as I only know the names of the two born in Lebanon (and the vocalist being vegetarian -- NO KHEMA!!! That's just WRONG!!). Isn't Shavo the one with red hair & green eyes (at least he looks that way in the pics). And the one who wears the Egyptian eye make-up. Does he LOOK Armenian? He jsut doesn't look Armenian to me. He's involved in the Occult (or, "fascinated" by it, I have read...minus the spelling error if there is one).

I didn't mean to imply that those raised in America do drugs, but, what I was saying is...asking, really, do they ACT more American or Armenian?

Who is "They all"? SOAD or rockers in general?

I'm glad you said this, actually. I want to like them less for these reasons, but, being as they ARE Armenian and I feel that there are so very few of us that to speak out against anybody who has made it big would be almost traitor-ish, in a way.

I don't know, I've heard they sing parts of old Armenian songs.

    They are confirmed drug addicts?

I don't know how I feel about them. They are energetic on stage, I like the music, Serj has a nice voice, but, politically, I can't agree with them, & if they're druggies, that's not cool, either. I want them to be better representations, but, like Cher & Dr. Kavorkian -- they're American who just happen to be Armenian in blood. (And I know one or two of them were born IN Armenia, but, they were raised here & they're all citizens and influenced by here, are they not?) I think, and I could be wrong, they were influenced by the state of California and like all Americans, just want money. That is why I asked before (not knowing if anybody from Armenia is actually on this forum or if some of you have friends or family you talk to there), how are they perceived over IN Armenia? Are the Armenians actually PROUD that THESE men are famous and doing good for their country or do they regard them as Americans?
