Folk, all the members of SOAD are of Armenian descent.

Furthermore this is the first time I'm hearing about this & I follow on SOAD updates quite a lot I doubt they did such a thing like that.

SOAD and a controversial matter in Turkey

I want to ask a question dwelling in my mind.

SOAD (System of a Down) is an Armenian band as far as I know, a few members of it may be non-Armenian, I don't have much information about them.

In Turkey it is said that this band made a banner on which "Turks and dogs are not allowed" is written hung up in a concert. Because of this, SOAD is hated so much. Yet, there is a great number of SOAD fans in Turkey. This fact makes fascists so furious and they regard Turkish SOAD fans as villain.

But then I heard that that banner was made by some fascist Armenians, not SOAD members. Even SOAD members attempted to leave the concert when they saw the banner, but they were convined to go on.

Now I want to ask you what the truth is about that incident. The concert was in 2005 as far as I remember.

    Peace...

Some famous Armenians that I know of are :
System Of A Down , Cher , Gwen Stefani (Half) , Andre Agassi (Half)... that's all I can think of. Who else is a fmaous Armenian?

Last year, in October, I was sitting with my fiance at a resturant called "The Club", in Yerevan, when out of the blue Serj non-chalantly walk in with a few other people. No one really made a big deal about it except me...I was sort of shocked, so I shouted "Serj...I love you man" across the table. I think he was a little taken aback by my enthusiasm, as he ended up moving to another table out of veiw to mine. However, prior to moving, he came up to my table and chated for a few minutes. He was very gracious, in spite of my "school girl" moment. The only gripe I had was that he rejected my request to take a picture with him...he said "maybe later, outside"...I took the clue...oh well.
Anyway, I'm still a huge fan and I'm sure my path will cross with Serj again someday.
    It's a small Armenian world.
