Since I like mostly Indy and Foreign movies (even first run movies, within a few months after release), I have no problem finding more then I want at my local public library, at 0 cost!

I mostly download them on Demonoid, but if I want a Bluray movie I hire them. I don't go that much to the theatre, it's not worth it because most of the movies are crap.

My brother gave me a couple of websites where I can go & download movies... so no more BlockBuster for me.

I just downloaded a Blu-ray rip of Gomorra. It looks amazing.

I usually stray away from DVD screeners, no matter how much I want to see them. I have, however, seen several though. I just saw Gran Torino, I'd say it was between a DVD rip and a screener; not bad at all.

You can download all sorts of things ... anywhere from highly compressed rips for portable players, to cd-size xvids, to 1/2 to 1/4 dvd size h.264 versions ( (usually mkv which can actually be higher quality than dvds due to superior compression) , to actual dvd iso images. You can do the same for a bunch of blue rays too (but those can be over 20gigs in size and recording them is still not that economical).

You can download DVDs now? I haven't downloaded in a while, but when I did, they were DVD rips and not actual DVDs.

A college student on a very limited budget but with access to 100Mbit or even 1Gbit connections at a dorm might have a different view of the relative costs. When she can download a DVD in less than 10 minutes and burn it on a disk that costs less than 5 cents, even $4 and a trip to the store starts to look like a huge cost

Oh, I thought the most they had was 3. Either way, I just saved a couple hundred and downloaded. I like this plan.

No, you can have 5, 6, 7, or 8 at a time. There's flexibility. So if you were watching 2 or 3 a day for a few days in a row, 8 at a time plan would be fine to eliminate a delay.

Yeah, I saw that plan. Either way, it didn't work well because when I receive my 3 films and finish them in a day, I have to wait 1-2 days until I receive another 3. What do I do in the meantime?
