Honestly, all of these were stupid. Finland was alright but it's going to be difficult for them to lead since the song won't be understood by many. I say, you can sing in English and still keep it cultural. I have a strong sense that Armenia will do well this year, very strong.

You don't need to understand lyrics when it comes to good music, music in itself is a language.

Well, if it's not a Turk accusing others of plagiarism!!!!
Actually, the band "Manga" that will represent Turkey this year -- I have listened to their album (Şehr-i hüzün) released in 2009, and at least one of the tracks, its beginning is completely copied & pasted from an Armenian song...... Track #8, called "Hayat bu işte"... The start is from the Armenian song..

Azerbaijani representative for Eurovision 2010 has been picked

Today was the day Azerbaijan made their choice for Oslo, for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest. It was an evening full of excitement and tension but finally it was Safura who won the Azerbaijani ticket to Europe's favourite TV-show.

The finalists of the Azerbaijani national selection were chosen exactly a month ago, read all about it in our article about the Azerbaijani semi-final. In the meantime, their national broadcaster, iTV, decided they would all need new songs. So, a total of four different entries were chosen and Milk & Kisses, Safura and Maryam Shabanova could perform three each.

So, the three finalists were set to perform three out of the songs Drip Drop (written by Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman), Under My Skin (by Stefan Örn and Phil Anquetil), Soulless (by Anders Lundström) and Cancelled (by Stefan Örn, Negin, Random).

Safura performed Drip Drop, Under My Skin and Soulless, Maryam the same songs and Milk& Kisses performed Drip Drop, Under My Skin and Cancelled.
And the winner is...

When the participants all had done that on the stage set in the Buta Palace in Baku, the jury, which consisted of people with impressive backgrounds had to take a decision. But until they did their hard work, we saw several interval acts, including their last year's participant (or half of it!) Aysel who also sung the entry Always.

The tension was turned up a notch and even more and then, it was time to reveal who would carry the Land of Fire's torch in Oslo. It was Safura to win, but her song will be chosen on the 19th of March. Congratulations!

According to the Head of Azerbaijani Delegation, Adil Kerimli, the jury, all four songs presented during the national final were outstanding and performed very strongly, so the jury decided to scrutinize the professional studio recordings of the songs prior to choosing the winner.
Long preparations for Safura!

Safura will now go to Ukraine for a training period and preparation for the album recording. After that Safura will travel to Sweden to record an album with Swedish partners who will participate in the album recording. Tentatively in two weeks Azerbaijani representative will be back to Kiev again to shoot the music video for the entry and work on the staging for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Looking at the Azeri girl: I guess they have a great shortage of the fabric for her dress. She is showing up everything she has. But if Azeries allowed to look at, I don't object.

Nevertheless, I doubt if it is authorized by her Mullah.

While I would not give them a point, if that point is a single one, it is not so bad. That makes us look better than them all the while giving them only a single point.

Emmi to file lawsuit

Twenty days have passed since the Armenian final for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest but some of the contestants continue questioning the credibility of voting results.

Next week singers Emmi and Mihran will appeal to court with a demand to decipher the results of SMS voting which they find falsified. Emmi is currently in the USA shooting a video for the song “Hey”.

Emmi and Mihran are also preparing for a concert due in Yerevan in the fall.

“Emmi’s heart is broken but we continue telling her that her fans second her,” said Nadezhda Sargsyan.

Armenian entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest was selected in a national final Sunday, February 14. Eva Rivas, was picked by a combined vote of the TV public (sms voting) and an expert jury. Eva Rivas received 6000 and Emmi 1400 votes.

Still she can not swallow that there are others better than her. all her career is based on eliminating potential challengers like Mathilda several years ago, then one of the girls in the Hayer band -can't remember her name, and now Eva? and all this backed by her mother and mothers mafiosi style connections
