Winning with a Swedish composer's song is no big deal..
Their performance was just fine compared to the insipid, low-quality performance of Emmy.. she couldn't sing live.
In response to Azerbaijan's actions at Eurovision:
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has placed a 2,700 euro fine on the Azerbaijani broadcaster for blurring out the televote number for Armenia, a distortion of the TV signal while the Armenian representatives were performing on stage and the fact that some Azeri citizens were interrogated by the police after voting for their neighbouring country. The European Broadcasting Union is said to have threatened the country to exclude the broadcaster from the competition for up to three years if further infractions of the Eurovision Song Contest rules are made. The EBU has clearly stated that "the organization will not tolerate violations of the rules - particularly political interference in the Eurovision Song Contest".
The Reference Group of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organises the song contest, examined the matter at a meeting in Oslo on 11 September 2009. In a statement issued on September 17, the EBU acknowledged that some Azerbaijanis who voted for the Armenian entry had been called to the National Security Ministry and condemned the breach in privacy of Azerbaijanis who had voted via mobile phone. Explaining that current rules put the obligation for protection of voters' privacy on the respective telecommunications companies, the EBU said it did not have the ability to penalise telephone companies, and Eurovision Song Contest rules would be amended so that in future it could impose sanctions against broadcasters by making a country's participating broadcaster liable "for any disclosure of information which could be used to identify voters".[16] Banning a broadcaster would effectively stop a country from being able to take part.[17
backup-turkey won, you don't have to wonder why they carry turkish flags. azerbaijan is turkeys dog and since turkey has the ambition to join EU and therefore hide its true racist agenda, azerbaijan has become the racist arm of turkishness...
do you think armenia could / should participate next year ? aliyev would do everything to harm armenia and I think he would not hesitate to let some of his facist dogs attack the armenian group physically...
It's a difficult one, probably they wouldn't do anything physically (but with Azeris you are never sure), but they will harass them mentally. Anyways, they will make this a political propaganda tool, even now you see they make a connection with winning Eurovision and Karabakh (everyone was shouting Karabakh is ours). Azeris are not happy they won, they are happy they won and Armenia "lost", pretty pathetic.
Probably they will spread thousands of books on the so-called "Khojaly" genocide and try teach Europeans how bad Armenian christians were and how good the Muslims behaved, and claim that Azerbaijan is an ancient nation etc.
Turks are so fanatic racists, they make everything political. Carrying the Turkish flag even though your from Azerbaijan, that's political.
