Here's another true hip hop video for all of you. It's a more recent hip hop video, and has some flavor of the Wu Tang.

    Enjoy:Method Man - What's Happening

    this is SO true.
i know hiphop & r&b are 2 distinct styles, but im gonna group them together because they are suffering the same fate these days.
u have expressed my thoughts exactly with what u said about 2pac. he was it, & everything seems to be falling into the pits since him..

ive never been able to understand the musical taste of the general hiphop/r&b audience.. & the more i learn about music, the less i understand them!

george benson has recently released an album which is pure r&b. for those who dont know who he is, he's a legendary jazz guitarist since the 60s & he made some commercial success as a singer in the 70s & 80s with some pop/r&b/soul albums (u must know some songs: This Masquerade, On Broadway, Turn Your Love Around, Nature Boy, The Ghetto, Breezin', Soulful Strut.... santana would quote his tunes quite a bit during his 15 minute guitar solos live).

i heard one song (Six Play) from his brand new album (rel. Jan 2004) "Irreplaceable" & i think it sounds really hip. i wish all commercial r&b music sounded this good. why dont u guys try finding that song & tell me what u think. id like to get the opinions of ppl from the general r&b/hiphop listening public.

Actually a lot of them sing about money they DO have. Look at P.Diddy, Puff, whatever... He is rolling in it. His clothing line, Sean John, is only outsold at Nordstrom by Ralph Lauren.

Rap and HipHop are definitely different. In your opinion they both suck, but they are not identical.

A lot of rappers sound the same. The only rappers I like are 2Pac who's dead, and Eminem. 50 cent sux and he got famous from Eminem's help.
Crooked I is a good rapper but he seems very much like other rappers out there. He needs his own style to stand out.
