Can't wait for The Games album, Naz's new double album, Ice Cubes new album, Crooked I's album, and Kurupt's album. Everything else is pretty much too overated.. especially the new 2pac album produced by Eminem.
.....its gonna suck more when Gunit signs....get this....Chingy but this new nas double album gives some dignity back to hip hop, if you haven't listn to it...then get the bootleg or somethin..quick. Its like one of those albums that takes you back to pre-commerical rap, i think it only has 1 or two radio or club freindly hits. I can tell nas cares more about the music then cash with this album...unlike 80% of rappers.

You know why I hate Rap and R&B these days? Cause they're not consistant

50 Cent a couple of years ago: "I ain't no Gangsta, I ain't no hitman, me I'm just me"

50 Cent now: "I'm so Gangsta, I'm so Hood" Ugh huh...

Destiny's child before: "I want a man who pays my bills, bills, bills"

Destiny's child a year or two ago: "Independant Women"

Ugh huh... an artist has to have a continous theme or fiber in their music. This kind of xxxx turns me off more than anything else. I used to really like 50, now he's just a bullxxxxter to me, I'd rather listen to Ashlee Simpson than his crap.

50 cent has been B.S. and always will be B.S. in my book.

Why was he successfull... one word...overhype.

Like MadHandle said, a lot of the best hip hop album are underground and unfortunately underrated.

gotta say i cant agree more- but it seems like people look more at the hype and sex appeal poop instead of the content and consistency of music as a whole-- i guess it helps to have a good PR ...

Yea, to me an artist has to stand for something an dtheir music stems from that. Take System of a down for example... they have many different types of songs, ranging from political, emotional, spiritual, etc... but you never feel that they're contradicting themselves. If you've only listened to one or two of their songs, you know EXACTLY what System is about, and it never changes. That defines what makes a good artist.............. and being Armenian helps

That's EXACTLY what it's about. A good public relations person, who you know in the industry, and marketing. Everything else is secondary.

That's why you hear mostly crappy music on the radio and just a few good ones.

50 cent is all about the money...right after one or two radio hits he started making garbage basically. His lyrics are weak too...you don't constantly diss someone by just saying..."oh his a wankster". Just listn to battle rappers for some real punchlines.

Gunit is expanding to something hip hop just doesn't need right now. They have the biggest general influence on most hip hop fans and what they do is what the image of hip hop turns into. I think the game is gonna be the next 50 cent, his coming in with a big hype and will most likely push a lot...alot of units in the west coast. Those artist are all about money...thats why underground hip hop is better to listn to...they still have the hunger to prove themselves, and in underground rap, talent is recognized.

and whats mos def thinking lately......rock and rap don't mix its thinks like this that are changing the good days of hip hop.

I wish Rap would go back to being what it was supposed to be... something that gave voice to the streets, something that showed everyone else a world that they know nothing about. Anger, politics, the kind of music that made you wanna get up and make a change in society. No one raps like that anymore... cept eminem, and even his xxxx is getting tired lately...
