  • Aram Khachaturian - Armenian Classical

Why is "Sabre Dance" the only piece by our world-famous composer that most of Armenians ever heard? Khachaturian's wrote such passion-saturated, chest-pounding and erotic music that Shostakovich or Prokofiev never dreamed about. And we, Armenians, even Armenian classical music lovers, don't know much of his compositions. We listen to Mozart, who was BAD composer and died late, not early!

I think most of Gayane is very well known among Armenians, as well as his Violin Concerto.
