I like hip hop, soul (old ... like Northern soul, Motown), dub, rocksteady, illbient, electro, ghetto tech, and jungle.
I love rock (I've seen Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac [several times], Widespread Panic, Stevie Nicks, Smashing Pumpkins and everyone else at Lolla '94 and 5 if I remember correctly! and so on and so forth), punk, emocore, classical, even some country but nothing current/modern.
Modern rock sooooooo sux. It is all soooooo over produced and mega compressed. It was like this major downhill slip 'n slide after the Seattle sound trailed off. I dug Alice In Chains but only liked the Nirvana Unplugged album. Oh Radiohead is dope ... Beck was awesome in Sea Change and Odelay but now I know he's a scientologist I could throw him off a bridge and be like "Meh". I actually do like SOAD from what I've heard ... there song structure is pretty sweet ... Still if I were to be stranded on an island with only one artists work to listen to for the rest of my life I would choose J Dilla aka Jay Dee ... R.I.P. Best hip hop producer EVER!!
It's weird... for whatever reason, when I was younger I'd listen to primarily hip-hop, and as I get older I find myself more drawn to different styles of Rock.
