karnig sarkissian, nersik isbirian and george tutunjian. this is the winning trio of armenian azkayin and hegapokhagan songs, the others, like pamboukjian, dichtchekenian, katerjian, araradian etc, too many, come after. of course this is a personal appreciation so you have to take it under reserve

Karnig is in league of his own; no one has his fire, passion, and most importantly his voice. I think Ispiryan plaine sucks. Tutunjian is from another generation. Pampoukjyan is another story, too bad he doesn't do more revolutionary songs. But check out thid cd: harut puts the legendary tutunjian to shame with his fire:
