I know the obvious advantage to a rear-engined car is that it won't get all the rear-end lift, so it will be more stable at high acceleration. Aside from that, what are the pros and cons?

Rear Engine vs. Front Engine

Rear engine has shorter driveline, the power loss due to lagg of driveline mass is less. Weight distribution is easier to control the perfect 50/50.. front tires are able to be wider and deeper in the body, the geometry of the front end can be better suited for near perfect aerodynamic scales.. (look at the ford GT's front end. ) the side intakes are not actually needed for rear engine cooling and again contributes to aerodymanics... and if i think of more il let you know..
