Nice pictures. You should try the manual mode on your camera or get a manual camera because it doesn't always know best and you have a lot more creative control w/ manual.

totally- i agree that manual cameras are soo much better to work with- not to mention more fun- although you have to play around with the f stop and lens in order to get the best photo possible- you know that everything comes out near perfect- btu the best part is if you have a dark room- i took photography for about a year- i loved developing and printing the pictures- because you can doo soo much more in the dark room and improve your prints.... this isbest when youre taking BW pictures- because chemicals for colored prints cost a whole lot more....

Not to mention they're a hell of a lot more toxic.

You dont need to shoot film to do manual though.

What kind of budget do you have for the camera?
I like Nikons... My 35mm is the N80. You can get that for about $400 w/o lens or a combo w/ a cheap zoom 28-85ish for an additional 50 or so.
It's a GREAT camera. Very durable. It's not plastic like those "student" cameras they advertise. I bought mine about 4 years ago for 550 on Ebay and that was a great deal. Still works great, no dents, no mechanical probs, nothing... still works the same as it did when it was brand new.
