Morsi's anti-Semitic slurs 'deeply offensive', US says


The US has strongly criticised Egypt's Mohammed Morsi for anti-Semitic remarks he apparently made before being elected president.

TV footage shows Mr Morsi in 2010 referring to Zionists as "bloodsuckers" and "descendants of apes and pigs".

US officials want the leader to clarify his "deeply offensive" comments, which they say run counter to Middle East peace efforts.

Egypt receives around $1.5bn (£900m) in annual US military and economic aid.

The financial support is linked to Egypt's peace treaty with Israel, which the US considers a cornerstone of regional stability.

Israel Makes Landmark No-Show at U.N. Human Rights Council Session








Israel has become the first country to boycott a U.N. Human Rights Council review of its record on human rights. The acting president of the Human Rights Council convened the session in Geneva on Tuesday, only to see that no Israeli representatives had shown up.


Remigiusz Henczel: "We were to convene this afternoon to proceed with the review of Israel; however, I see that the delegation of Israel is not in the room."

Israel severed contacts with the council last year after the body launched an investigation of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli occupation raid and evict Palestinians from Ein Hijleh

Hundreds of Israeli forces have raided Ein Hijleh village in the Jordan Valley and evicted all its residents violently around 1:30 am and declared the village a closed military zone. And it is estimated that between 200-250 Palestinians were in the village at the time of eviction.


35 Palestinians were injured and taken to Jericho hospital after the eviction. At the time of the raid Israeli forces fired large amounts of sound bombs to scatter the crowd that gather at the center of the village while many women and children were automatically evicted from homes and tents where they were asleep.

Israeli forces have attacked the residents of Ein Hijleh by beating them up, kicking them and pushing them to the ground and into the fire.

The residents of the village were transferred after the eviction with Israeli occupation military buses while being humiliated and mocked by the soldiers on the bus. The residents of Ein Hijleh where transferred to the entrance of Jericho and were received by Palestinian security forces and taken to the center of Jericho city.

Israeli forces have also attacked journalists and medical teams in the village at the time of eviction including a cameraman from Palestine TV who was pushed from one of the rooftops to the ground and one of the medics from the medical relief team was hit with a riffle on his chest.

Several Palestinians were arrested at the time of eviction and were later released at the entrance of Jericho.

The activist from the popular struggle committee in AlMasara Mahmoud Zawahreh said that the activists have managed to revive the village and although they were evicted from Ein Hijleh but the Israeli occupation failed to evict the village and the great work achieved from the hearts and minds of Ein Hijleh residents.

Activist from the popular struggle from Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem Monther Amira said that the eviction will not end the work of the activists in the Jordan Valley, he added “we will continue with our campaign Melh AlArd (Salt of the Earth), and the revival of the village was only the start to our work in the Jordan Valley, we will continue our work and we will remain to be the salt to this earth working against Israeli policies in all of Palestinian lands especially against the Judaization and annexation of the Jordan Valley.

It never stops surprising me how little coverage the negative actions of Israel get in America. How this stuff is allowed to continue to go on...

I highly recommend this Oscar nominated movie to everyone. It's the story of two young Palestinian suicide bombers,and their personal and national justification. I never thought I could understand the reasoning of a suicide bomber until I watched this movie. Its surprising how similar they describe their struggle to our struggle leading up the Genocide

USA wants to trade a convicted spy of Israel for the release of Palestinian prisoners. This shows how the USA is the lapdog of Israel. Israel has sold this information gathered by the spy to profit of of the USA while compromising its security yet here we are rewarding it for betraying USA yet again. This is allowed because of the power xxxish interest groups have over the government of USA. It is the loss of sovereignty by the USA-the inability to do what is in its own interest-that makes its own doom a certainty. Not only is the USA dooming itself by giving itself to greed but it is also destroying the entire world by doing it. Special interest is behind many of the wars today and it is also behind the inaction regarding global climate change. Just these two things alone will do far more damage then anything good the USA could do for a thousand years. People do not understand and always underestimate the damage the special interest-led USA has done to Humanity.

Sometimes I truly wonder if China is the one who has got it right. When you have a government that can make decision based on national interests and doesn't have to worry about special interests or the votes of easy to manipulate idiots. It's ridiculous that an "ally" fueled a traitor to steal your state secrets and then that "ally" protests when you imprison that traitor. Obama has been one of the most pathetic figures in recent American politics. His presidency will go down as having stood for absolutely nothing. Selling out every oppressed group who had counted on him. what peace are trying to achieve at this point you coward, there's nothing left of Palestine.
