Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Ya, you're a fine patriot yourself. You sit there all day typing up poetry and literature, and thinking youre some type of sh-i-t.

          Armenian, you forgot Ara Baliozian.

But I really am flattered and I likewise would enjoy meeting an Armenian who deeply cares about his people and country.

I've met many interesting and fun people here who are proud of being Armenian, who may be opinionated, passionate, who may not agree with me on many things. But for me personally it's a thrill to meet an Armenian stranger, so meeting these folks would be a great occasion. It's certainly not guaranteed that friendships would be forged, but unless someone has shown themselves to be a psycho or a self-hater I would definitely be happy to meet them.

We haven't had many real self-haters here, but meeting those wouldn't be any better than meeting a turk.

Exchanging thoughts, ideas and sometimes insults - electronically - is very different than actual human interaction. Being able to hide behind a computer screen sometimes brings out the worst in many people. It is common for individuals to act out their fantasies on the internet. This applies especially to individuals that are timid or reserved in public due to physical, sociological or psychological reasons.

Nevertheless, it's always better to keep a certain degree of mystery. Dont' you think. For example: some of the people I have come across in Cyberia think I'm a Dashnaktsakan party member, others think I'm a KGB agent working for Putin, while others think I work for Robert Kocharyan. Some consider me an ultra-Armenian nationalist, while others think I'm dangerously insane or a fanatical Nazi...

Now, while none of the above are actually very flattering, they nevertheless do provide me with a certain weight, a certain aura. So, if these people ever got to know me in person, and saw how pathetically inaccurate their perceptions towards me were, I would loose a lot of my - mystery

We haven't had many real self-haters here, but meeting those wouldn't be any better than meeting a turk.
So true. Generally speaking the self-hating garbage amongst us are a majority. And even amongst the ones who seem patriotic there usually is some form of self-hate lurking somewhere inside. I think our obsession with the Armenian Genocide and the realization that the Armenian Republic is a small struggling nation that not many people know about contributes to the self-hate many feel.

In many Armenians' subconscious they feel like hapless victims, they feel vulnerable and at the mercy of others. Hardly a feeling to be proud about.

Ideologically speaking, you seem close to someone like Dugin, possibly with less intellectual depth and without the gnostic inclinations obviously.

A certain weight, a certain aura in the eyes of a certain public, of a certain "crew"

Frankly, I must say I am growing tired of some of our self-proclaimed patriots, nationalists... They have much more in common with the self-assessed and Soros-sponsored democrats who like to call themselves "dissidents" than one would imagine at first.
Some of them are possibly good-willed yet all too often nothing more than impenitent narcissistic babblers. Honestly, when we think of a patriot, do we see someone repeating the word patriotism every two sentence (same of a Christian or a democrat or...) or do we portray one differently?

I like this Dugin dude already. So, in other words, I'm a watered down version of this Dugin character? Like a dumber version of him, right? Well, that is sad. All this time I though I was truly unique in my rhetoric, not to mention intellectual brilliance... Hey, come to think of it, I even look like him. Could it be that we are living parallel lives? Strange...

I agree. Generally speaking, the depth of a self-proclaimed Armenian "patriot" or "nationalist" is only as deep as the vodka in their shot glass. One can recognize a true nationalist not by the words that they use - but by the way they live their lives.
