Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Some critical info on Genetically Modified Organisms

I just finished watching a video on youtube of Jeffrey Smith, who in a speech about his book, "Seeds of Deception" clearly explains the dangers of genetically modified foods.

It discusses the proven potential health risks of consuming GM foods. The key words to remember are:

    Allergies
    Toxins
    Antibiotic Resistant Diseases
    Nutritional Problems
    Carcinogens

And that all these have increased incidence of affecting human beings who consume GMO foods.

If you want to skip to the video now, go right ahead, the link is at the bottom, but if you don't have an hour of free time to watch the video and would prefer to have a runthrough of it, read on.

The dangers in GMOs aren't caused by the genes being implanted into a host organism themselves, it is in the crude, very much random process of doing so. The video explains it very well, and you'll learn about how they use viruses in the gene sequence insertions to make sure they function in the host cell and can affect the entire organism those cells are implanted in, and also about how they attach antibiotic resistant strains with the genes to be inserted. These strains are to be used as markers in tests to find out where the gene ended up in the DNA of the cell. They actually use antibiotics to locate the antibiotic resistant strain in the organism.

The video also talks about how the FDA and its equivalent in Canada have been approving genetically modified foods for public consumption since the Clinton Administration whilst ignoring all long term testing on their possible side effects, using flawed analysis methods (such as using cows that were already pregnant instead of non-pregnant cows in studies that search for the effects of GMOs on the fertility of these animals) and threatening, firing or bribing scientists in order to make sure their pro-industry policies on food safety were passed regardless of the health risks they would cause.

So please watch this video because this man explains it very well, he's even comical amidst his discussion of the very scary situation that GMOs present for us so I hope you enjoy it.

It is available in 6 parts and altogether is an hour long:

This is a lecture by Jeffrey Smith, in which he summarizes the contents of this book. It's not only informative, but amusing, because he casts a joke here an...

yes, and I pretty much convinced all the kids in my grade 3 summer camp group that Soy and plastics can help boys grow boobs. Now they stick dodge balls in the shirt of their friend and say "hahaha, you drink soy milk!"

Of course, it's not true, I drank soy milk for years and quit when I found out they had phyto-estrogens in them, which are also carcinogenic btw, as they are not natural human hormones.

Anyways, the main foods to avoid are Soy, Corn, Cotton-seed and Canola, they are all GMO.

Also, if you drink milk or consume milk products, you're at risk because there are no labels here that tell you if there is bovine growth hormone in it, which is a gmo.

I'm also willing to bet that most of our livestock also get these GMOs, and guess what, most of their feed are based on GMO crops. One way or another, if you eat meat, you can get the faulty DNA that might've mutated them to have new genetic diseases.

here you go guys, I posted this thread (with slight modifications) on the space forums, and I think you should see how the discussion has evolved, it sheds light on the shortcomings of my sources and motives but also points out other aspects and concerns in food production that we should all hear about: http://www.space.com/common/communit...yCurrentPage=0

If I had to actually spend parts of my day worrying about what's in what, and being overly picky, I'd probably never finish.

I figure one day I'm gonna be dead either way, so I may as well take the easier option and enjoy myself without worrying about all these pesky distractions and sensitive things.

Let white people worry about these.

Science will come up with some reason to put in the books, but in the end it'll be just a theory. I mean, we will fail to acknowledge that there are forces at work beyond our understanding.

Indeed. All things are theories and perspectives in a desolate world of unknown and speculation where mind wanders and soars to unimaginative lengths and zeniths in an effort to give meaning and purpose to things which otherwise have none except in our own minds and paradigms, where God once spoke in the arcane chants of Churches, science now preaches and teaches with numbers, statistics, peer reviewed Journals and such.

And whether in ages past the worrying was whether God might smite you for daring to doubt the deeds, now science compels you to follow its new creeds.

Genetically modified foods is a myth .. just like evolution. It is well known that God makes everything.
