We all know why you like openly gay congressman Barney Frank...and it has nothing to do with alternate energy...it has to do with your alternate lifestyle.
I generally agree with most people.... It should be legalized (at the very least decriminalized) but I don't think it will.
Besides it being MUCH less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol, it also eats up a lot of our taxes from trials and throwing people into prison.
As far as I'm concerned there is no logical argument to keep marijauna illegal, unless you also believe that alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, perscription drugs, etc, should also be illegal. And if you also believe that the government should put a limit to how many pastries and fast-food meals we can have.
Also, besides the social stigma, I believe one of the major obstacles to marijuana legalization are the lobbies for the cotton industry. Hemp is much cheaper and more reliable than cotton, and if it were legalized, it would cripple the cotton industry.
