Feeling uncomfortable when I shop
I hate department stores. I've been meaning to buy a new pair of shoes (several, actually) and I've found some nice ones online. I just can't stand going into a department store because of the way you get harrassed! I may be in the minority in this one, but everytime my girlfriend and I go to a department store, we might stop at the men's shoe section. I feel like every employee literally jumps onto me with "Is there anything I can help you with? Would you like to see something in your size? HERE, TRY THIS ONE!" Sometimes I want to scream, "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Worst of all, I hate saying no. My girlfriend and I passed by a store in the mall the other night and she wanted to go in. I quickly noticed there was no customers inside except for two employees. GREAT, I thought, because I'll be harrassed by the male, and her by the female. I ended up seeing a nice watch, and I felt so uncomfortable because I just can't say, "Well, I'll think about it." I ended up talking about Alfred Hitchcock as he told me about the time he saw City of God in Portugal. I ran when he went to the back.

I hate it when someone talks to me with their hands like for example points at me with their whole hand or they stare at me for more than 5 seconds.

it's when after receiving a wrong phone call, either on the cell or fixed, the caller just shuts his phone without any 'excuse me sir' or 'sorry' and this happens often, sometimes several times in the same day

One-way, i totally agree. I'll go into a department store, and they'll ask if I need help, and I'll tell them, no I'm just looking, and lo and behold, they are stalking me the entire way, popping in ever 10 min to ask me if i need help again.

I also hate the sound someone makes when their silverware scratches against a plate, for me it's like nails on a chalk board which ironically enough, doesn't bother me at all

Today while going home & trying to exit this big diesal wouldnt let me cross over so I sped up & then while Im exiting he sticks his middle finger out the window. People like that are really useless.

I hate it when people make a big deal in complimenting me or getting over excited when i do something good. Like when i was younger and i'd bring home a 100 or something, my dad would get overly happy and say "good for you son!" and "I'm so happy/proud!" I don't really know why i hate it, but i guess it's b/c I always think to myself, 'We're they not expecting me to do so well? what's to be proud of? this is the grade i should be getting, w/o any incentive."

I am uncomfortable talking with people who have sunglasses on, to the point where I will cut a conversation short or avoid talking to them at all. And usually will have an unfriendly tone of voice when talking with them. Maybe not unfriendly, but not friendly, like the reason I am talking to them is all business.

As far as department store employees go, I used to be one so they don't bug me too much. If I don't want them to bug me when they first approach me I am sure to let them know that I will get them if I need anything at all, saying it in a tone that gets the message across.

Yes, but then they're just standing there... looking at you.

I have no problem with the employees, I admit it's completely my problem. I'm the one who feels awkward and embarrased. It would suck if I was a celeb.

School Sytem
I don't want to go into why I hate the school system in America but here's a good example; short and sweet.

The entire class did pretty horrible on the Anthropology exam we had and the teacher said something like this:

"I don't know what some of you are thinking when you don't take notes, or how you expect to learn or pass an exam when you don't take notes. Maybe not you'll realize how important taking notes is. I'm not the type of person to make fun of you guys when you walk in 30 minutes late... or text message your friends. I never call you out or laugh at you because I don't care. This is college, you're paying to be here, so the choice is up to you and your exams will reflect what you've learned."

The last part is what bothers me incredibly. It seems like he totally missed his own point! We pay to be in this class so why do we still get treated like it's high school? This entire "don't come in late, sit down and take notes, and then I'll give you a 6-page test" is a totally messed up system. That's not how I learn, that just stresses me out and I shut my mind off at lectures.

Anyway, I take more notes than anybody in that class and that didn't help me. It's like he told us to study one thing but he put something completely else on the exam.

Why is this a problem? Most people are glad to hear their parents congratulate them, just because they want approval from their parents. It's not so much about getting the grade per se but that your parents are saying "we acknowledge your existence, and we love you".
