I ordered a Dell recently and it took forever to arrive and when it did it did not perform as i expected it to. Despite putting in a good videocard it still does not run Aion like i thought it would. It handles my business programs well but pretty much any comp would. Dell used to be a company i could trust but not anymore. Siggie WOW is for kids it is too easy- you need to try Aion.

Check out the specs on the Alienwares. They're quite nice. I have had 3 dell laptops and one desktop in the last 12 years or so and they've all been great. Never an issue. On the other hand, between dell laptops 1 and 2, I had a Toshiba Satellite and that thing was an overheating piece of crap. I know Dell's sales aren't doing as well as they used to be, but I don't think their quality has declined much has it? My 2.5-3 year old XPS still runs great; I just wanted more power.

Thanks for the tip... I'll check out Aion. I didn't think wow was too easy per se, but I did grow tired of the wow kiddies.

Ailianware is a lot more expencive then xps for the same kind of stats it seemed to me. I was not happy though with the performance of the xps when runing Aion and when i tried to complain Dell kept giving me the runaround which really made me mad. For a game with a adult community i would recomend age of connan. Aion is harder to play than wow so not as many kids there either. What really attracts me to Aion is the sorcerer class which has a great combo of dps and cc in a single class. There is a good class balance in this game which means the people who know how to play their class best usually win duels. Sieges are a lot of fun to. If you decide to play Aion do it on the ziekel server so i can help you with gear n stuff.

If I could build my own laptop like a desktop, I would go that route and pay less. There's more than just the basic specs to consider too I think... for example, screen (1080p), how solid the case, how well it cools, etc.

Aion looks good. I'll let you know if I decide to play the game. Some reviews mentioned race lockouts on some servers to balance, any of that going on still? On your server? I assume the two races aren't cooperative... which do you play?

What about Darkfall btw? Reading good things about that too.

Yes there are two races Asmodians and Elyos. I play Asmodian. If you choose one race you cannot make another toon on that same server of the opposing race. Elyos dominate most servers thus playing Elyos is easy mode and Asmos are harder. There are miner differences in skills based on race. This is mainly a pvp game with asmos and elyos going at eachother in pvp and sieges. I like the sorcerer class in this game so much that i have not been cheking out other games thus i dont know anything about darkfall.

Aww, primarly pvp then? Hope there's not unrelenting sportless ganking like in WOW. That drives me crazy because then I need to either call in guildies or friends, leave the area, or switch toons and return the favor by camping the @ss that keeps killing me and it's just a giant waste of time.

Dell: Beware, Siggie has ordered a badass new Alienware laptop. With the exception of just the processor which would cost $900 to upgrade further, it's all top of the line. Now to wait a couple weeks for it to arrive.


If Anna finds and replies to this post, I may transfer my toons and play WOW again for her...

By the time you are ready to pvp you will be itching for it. That alienware comp sure looks good-i hope it performs as good as it looks.
