I spoke here about my professor who hadn't ever really prepared a test and the fact that is class was good lecture-wise but confusing exam-wise. So I've been impatiently waiting for my final class grade to be released. It's been two weeks since the final and all my other grades are up. Usually, it never takes this long.
I came across my professor's e-mail and wanted to see if I could get a response. Instead of e-mailing him, I Googled his name. Could this get any more random? This happened in 2002:

The healer in Oku warned [professor] not to take any gifts from the pygmies.
But he didn't listen.
And he paid the price.
Shortly after accepting the pygmy gift in a remote region of East Cameroon, [professor], fell violently ill. He was taken to a hospital, but his condition only worsened. Soon, he couldn't even move.
[Professor] was told that he might have malaria, a fatal disease and major killer in many developing countries. "Just get me back to Oku," [professor] kept telling everyone.
What was in Oku? A fully modern hospital that would surely provide him with the expert medical care he needed? No, in Oku there were spiritual healers who he thought might help him.
After arriving back in Oku and being scolded for not heeding the warning, [professor] was attended to by a traditional healer who performed a spiritual cleansing and offered prayers to the ancestors. Within 48 hours, [professor] was completely normal.
