Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Animal Testing

-
I will not go into this any further than to just say, If you've EVER taken ANY KIND of medicine, from Tylenol to Birth Control Pills, you can't say you're against animal testing.
As for me, I am very much against using animals to test cosmetics. But I do know that it is necessary to do Medical Testing using animals (that's what it is, it's not ANIMAL testing, it's MEDICAL testing) because while we all know we're headed for death, one way or the other, it takes seeing all the suffering out there to realize something HAS TO BE done in order to alleviate the pain and have that journey to death be less excruciating for both the sick person and family and friends. It's too easy to say the world is overpopulated and death is necessary, it's harder to sit there and hold someone's hand, knowing there is not a damn thing you can do to help them, no way you can take the pain yourself and spare their wasted bodies any more hurt.... I can't even imagine how terrible it would be to have a family member go through that. I hope to God I no one in my family ever has to go through that. I suppose everyone is right when they tell me I care waaaay too much about people. So let that be my one weakness. I'd rather care too much, than not at all. When it comes to medical testing using animals, I try to take the utilitarian apporach. Maximize benefit, minimize harm.
And those 'animal rights' fanatics out there who go kill researchers are the stupidest xxxxs I've ever heard of. What is the mentality of these peiople? Lets spare the animals but kill the researches and cause so much pain and suffering for the families who lose them?? These people and those people who bomb abortion clinics (I am personally against abortion, except in extreme circumstances like rape or when tests confirm that the baby is going to be sick it's whole life, but I don't think there should be a law against it because that would certainly be the reason 'black market' dirty abortions would be done causing more pain and suffering and death) just never cease to amaze me with their xxxxed up way of thinking. The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald

Originally posted by TigranJamharian Surfer you are very wrong there. I am surprised that you dont realize that it does not come down to values but to money. The scientist doesn't give a crap whether you live or die. He wants to get recognition and money for making a breakthrough medicine.
I will not attempt to stop development, it is natural you cant stop development because people always want to invent something new and get the upper hand on the other people. Think of it in terms of two armies, they will naturally try to develop the best weapons they can to get the upper hand and they will totally disregard values or anything else until they are in deep xxxx.
Deep xxxx is what we are getting into, this planet's population will double by 2050 to 12,000,000,000 people. We will not be able to support this population and that quality of life you are speaking of will be inexistable. By 2050 thousands of species will be extinct. There will be almost nowhere to go and enjoy yourself the world will be completely overcrowded. Id rather die early from a disease, something which my ancestors have done for thousands of years, than live in a world like that.
The question tigran my dear was not asking what scientists thought about animal testing, it asked what you thought about animal testing.
You are worse than the scientists. You buy the cheaper product, so they work to find cheaper methods of producing so you can have a computer and jack off to internet porn.

Well as I’ve mentioned before, men and women are not so different after all. Girls are somehow always assimilated with the “xxxxx chatroom fighting”, well men are not far from this behavior.
Please observe Anon and Surfer, that is what we would call a good xxxxfight! Place your bets please and let the biggest ego win!
And this fits right in the "Animal Testing discussion", WOW 2 birds with one stone, way to go anileve!
