Last night, in an attempt to bore myself to sleep I decided to learn something new. The I happened upon this webpage the described in detail everything I ever wanted to know (but didn't know that I wanted to know) about Ultimate Fighting. It did an awful job of helping me sleep. I found myself.... ACTUALLY INTERESTED. wow. I read through the history then the rules and I even know who Tito Oriz is now. Dang. Now that I have seen the 2-D version I would like to go to vegas and see it all play out in 3-D. Is that weird? It sounds cool. A very interesting 'sport' indeed. Is it a sport? Who knows. Mixed martial arts, sounds like the way to uber perfection at being disciplined. Don't do just one of the many martial arts practices out there... Try them ALL. At any rate. I now have more information about random topics I can talk about with my... oh wait. nevermind.

You will find that I am probably the only poster here that is hardcore avid fan of Ultimate Fighting Championships and Pride Fighting Championships. I have been an avid fan since the early days of UFC back when there were 'no rules' and the dominance of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was established against other styles. Then as the sport grew rules were introduced and you had to be cross trained, you couldn't just fight with one style, you had to train in both striking and grappling.

I was in Vegas at the MGM last Novermber for UFC as well as this June during my 21st birthday, in Vegas for UFC. It is simply the best. It transcends boxing and wrestling and takes the sport of Mixed Martial Arts to extravagant heights.

Tito Ortiz is from Huntington Beach, and he just got his ass handed to him by Randy Couture. I was in Vegas in June when Chuck Liddell fought Randy Couture, the winner would face Tito, and Randy won, and then he just beat Tito. Last year, in November I saw in Vegas how Tito dismantled the legendary Ken Shamrock, rather old now.

By the way, YES it is a sport. There are many xxxxxxx politicians and soccer moms who try to complain and force legislation to ban the sport. The Nevada Athletic Commission has sanctioned it, as well as the Connecticut I think, and some southern States, but California won't allow it for some stupid reason, so the only place in California where you can see Mixed Martial Arts, is in Soboba Casino, off the 10 east in San Bernardino, and thats King of the Cage, more of a small time league, as opposed to UFC.

Pride FC however is the Superbowl of Mixed Martial Arts, from Japan. You will find that in Japan this sport is the equivalent of a national pastime, with 90000 people crowding the arenas for this event.

So yes, it is a sport with its rules and regulations. By the way, more people have died in Boxing than in this sport even when it did not have rules. The simple mechanics of this sport doesn't limit getting hit only to the head, instead you can get hit in your legs, stomach, and the head and any other part of the body, except for the groin area, not to mention that you can also win by a variety of submissions, holds and chokes, and make your opponent tap out. People who complain about the "violence" of this sport need to be killed. The fake WWE crap is far more violent than this.

Yea I was going to start, but then this thing called School, reared its ugly head and I have been caught in this vacuum.

If you are there, perhaps you can show me around and maybe I can sign up, since my membership with Bally's is expiring those xxxxxxxs overcharge me. I really need to get back in shape after my finals, which thank god, end today. I would really be down to start training. I just have a Judo base since I trained for about two years with Gokor, but Judo isn't enough. By the way, did you see Karo Parisyan in the latest UFC? Wasn't he just the xxxx?

Folks, here is Antonio Nogeuira slapping an arm bar on the ever dangerous Mirko Cro-Cop.
