Really good and well acted dark film. Main reason I went to see it is for Sean Penn because he usually makes quality xxxx.

It's about a math techer, an ex con, and a mother who shouldn't have anything to do with each other, but are all connected by a huge tragedy.

It's a little confusing from the start because you see all these brief clips that have no relevancy and are events yet to come, but it starts to make a lot of sense as the move unfolds.

It's sort like Requiem For adream in the sense that all the charecters are connected by the main negativity in their life, and you basically get to observe where it all leads.

Good dark film, but a lot lighter than Reqiuem For a Dream.

    My four cents.

It was a good movie. I liked del Toro, Watts and Penn before I saw it so having all three helped get me into the theater. I never saw Amores Perros so I was not really there for the director but he did a very good job. Not my favorite of the year but I have no regrets. I hate Aronovsky so I will not address the comparison.

Yes, I know you hate Aronovosky, but I couldn't give a xxxx for that xxxxer since I liked the movie.

del Torro is indeed another class act in the film. I liked him in his role in Traffic, as well as that movie with Tommy Lee Jones, the name escapes me.

Del Toro is great in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as well. And he did ok in Basquiat even though I could not get into the movie.

Watts was phenomenal in Mulholland Dr. but it seems like her roles from this point on will no longer be comparable.

I agree Fear and Loathing was another awesome flick by him, also Snatch, by Guy Ritchie, another one of my favorites.
