    Re: Anyone familiar with Buddhism?

Buddhism is cool to study and some of the aspects are even cool to practice, but in it's current state, with elements like karma and reincarnation it's something I'd never follow, I actually hate the idea of karma, it's as self contradictory as anything in any other religion.

      How does karma contradict itself?
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

It doesn't. Think of people in the world as a huge circle of dominoes. If you push the domino (person) in front of you and they fall, every domino thereafter will push the one in front and will eventually come around to knock you down. The only way you won't be affected is if you remove yourself from the circle after pushing the domino in front of you down, which is precisely what a criminal mind would do.

i agree with buddha, he was right that it dosnt matter, wether we are genetic experiments of aliens, evolved from worms or created by a cloud of pixy dust and the wave of a divine finger. It wont make a difference in our understanding of peace with the universe. A religion dosnt need to give reasons why things happens. Buddhism has my respect becouse instead of trying to envelope the life of its followers and force its "ides of history" on people it focuses of the true and positive effect of religion, its teachings wich can bring peace and prosperity to humanity. Being open and vauge also covers its ass in the case that science comes marchining in with facts and numbers disproving things left and right, it gives them a chance to still be right.
