For sure.... I'm sure that's what's on Clemon's mind here. "Leadville 100 was an excellent excuse to dress so openly! Muahahahah!"

Just like Scott Jurek here is clearly dressed this way because he's seeking attention, right?

What about testicles? Do they give men an excellent excuse to think they have any more right to wear what they're comfortable in than women?

Seriously, do not hijack my thread and don't pretend what you're saying has the slightest to do with the topic of the thread.

Update... Still doing Vibrams or barefoot and still zero pain since I made the switch so I can keep building endurance (distance) now.
No shoe better than the ones I was born with! Huzzah!

          Awesome, I'm happy for you

I'd like to do the barefoot thing, but I don't want to step on anything on the road that'll puncture my skin

I love running, it's become a habit like chewing gum at this point. Whenever I'm outside, I run to shorten travel time. I run to be able to leave my home later to catch my bus, it becomes like a hunt since it forces me to run fast since I could miss the bus if I get there too late. This is one case where my general procrastination has delivered some valuable additions to my abilities :P Last minute is the most productive!

Regarding buses, I also run to expand my range of available buses I could use, so like, if there's a bus that comes at a location that's 1 km from my house, it becomes a considerable option in case I missed the bus closest to home. And that turns into a fun challenge overtime as I get better and better with those set and strategic distances.

I love the fact that as I get older, my overall abilities are getting better and not worse! Mind you, it's taken a few years of both intentional and inadvertent conditioning to get to where I am now, but like now, I can enjoy the fact that if I eat too many sweets, I can just choose to run a bit more than usual to at least psychologically fight the evil sugar!

Oh, and one last thing, I run with all my regular clothes, especially jeans, and when I go to church, even my dress shoes and dress pants, lol, since I don't distinguish the me that runs from the me that has to get to his destination or where I'm leaving from.

That's great Jeff! I too feel the urge to run from A to B regardless of how I'm dressed. It's just a more efficient and *fun* way to get around.
Trail running is even more rewarding. No cars, no lights, no boring urban/suburban environment.

hmmm, I haven't done trail running much, except to keep a speed that the mosquitos can't catch up with in the woods :P

Haha! It's a lot of fun Jeff. I think you would enjoy it a great deal. It's so peaceful and you get to see much more in less time than if you were walking/hiking. You just can't zone out because you have to be constantly attending to where your next foot placement should be. If you don't pay attention, you'll go flying. *points to scab on knee and tear in my favorite running tights* I took a fun tumble that way on Saturday.
