Hello all

In my ongoing effort to become closer to the Armenian community I have decided to become fluent in Armenian.

So far, Thanks to ckBejug I know the Armenian words

&

kezi shad ge sirem

What other important Armenian phrases should I be aware of?

As for me teaching clubbin a sentence...(in western Armenian)

Well if you leave it up to them, it would take them a trip to Armenia to understand the meaning.

The CORRECT version of your sentence is:

gna girk gni

-or the more commonly used:

gna girk ar

Which brings me to a point that the textbooks that teach you Eastern Armenian are pretty expensive, unless they teach you how to read the bible.

I welcome your explanation of what you consider soviet writing? Slang is completely separate from soviet writing or speaking. You can claim that it's Russianized for example marojni and paxpaxak. But other than that, the initial and literary Eastern is as pure as Armenian can be and not similar to the western twisted structure (HA!)....OOoo I see steam rising from Baronchiks eyes and ears. Vay tsava tanem!
