Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Maybe you should invest in a journal or something, Tigran.

I found that the most effective scene was when they had Dle Yaman. Gave me goosebumps.

actually during the soviet times, religion was not a common thing in armenia.

people were made atheist (sp?) by the russians.

      First off, they werent russians...
Secondly, athiesm was taught under USSR, no-one was MADE or forced to be athiest...It was taught, just like christianity is taughth in British schools...Maybe were forced to be christian here to...

you werent allowed to hang crosses around your neck, you were not allowed to practice christianity in public, you were not allowed to go to church..... or very very rarely.

So why was edjmiadzin not closed down?
Anyone could go to church ask hayastancis

people who beat you in school ( teachers) if you wore a cross etc. or showed any relation or anything to do with the christian faith , kind of sad.

      -Thats just untrue

so this is why many hayastancys dont go to church, its because of what they were raised it. Even if they have there faith, they arent used to going to church.

-No, in soviet times life was much easier, hence people didnt have to look for illogical mumbo jumbo "have a better life when you die" solutions...

so thats why you see more berutsys and barskahyes going to church then hayastancys.

      -See above

but now there is this huge huge boom of religion and christianity in armenian at the moment, because people feel more free now, because we are free of the soviets clutches. Alot of people are really into it again.

-Just so happens there has been a boom in stress due to unemployment, no job security, xxxx education, xxxx health...coincidence i think...or not. Same reason you get even worse religions like jehovas who prey on victims, same thing happens in armenia, only christianity has a monopoly on the victims

the same people who say what youve wrote also said that in iran the communists hung crosses on dogs and kicked the dogs about...coz really, they had nothing better to do than that....(!)

        vores ker

my mom wasnt allowed to wear a cross around her neck at school, they were either hit on the hand with a stick or what not.......some people were even hit on the back with rulers, which caused them to become paralyzed.

i dont really care what you say is true or not, because i know some of it was.

i didnt say church was closed, i said it was open but they gave you xxxx for entering one .

        have a nice day

May I also remind you of the corruption in church - read about Cardinal Wolsey... the biggest hypocrite on earth.

Jesus loves you, now give us some money, you GENTLEMEN who go to church!!

And where did they live? Cardinal Wolsey died because the king stripped him off his riches. He could not live with the thought that he could no longer afford all the luxuries of life.

^ THAT is the nature of organised religion. Even the papacy.
I don't care what you believe in. I'm all for freedom of speech and thought. I am simply pointing out truths. Need I remind you of the pope who engaged in incest..?

Tigran, still choosing to dogmatically defend the church as an institution? You don't know what happens behind closed doors. Just take a look at priesthood in the catholic church. I bet they "discerned the call" for priesthood alright.
