We must all remember that the most important thing is just to live, and not to become too caught up in such trivialities as definitions and origins, for all that matters is that we are here today. Whether or not I am a spiritual being, and whether or not I may at some point inhabit another body, the one thing I know for certain is that this is the last time I will inhabit this body, and this brain, and I may as well enjoy them while I have the opportunity.

As the author pointed out, there are two ways to define a thing. You can define it's essence (traits, likes, dislikes, etc.) or you can define it's physical extent (genome, morphology, physiology, etc.). Both are valid definitions.
