  • Financial aid easier to get in California?

I have been told financial aid is easier to get in California. Any truth to this? How is everyone paying for their education. I paid for mine out of pocket, and it wasn't fun.

My program costs $20,000. Financial aid gave me grants for a total of $8,000, so I have $12,000 to pay back in student loans. I don't know about the being easier part, I would think it's the same everywhere because it's federal aid? It all depends on your income level.

Yikes. I'm thinking about applying to UCLA, as an international student, and I'm not eligible for financial aid.. lol..... you can always apply to fellowships, can't you?

It doesn't depend on the state, but rather the school. My school covered 100% of my financial need. Being poor DOES come in handy.

Not to say that I'm not forced to get loans, but over half of my aid comes from free money. Keep in mind that my school charges $37,000/year.

Hmm.. that wasn't my intention.. I was asking a question about the tuition and which university it was.... No need to jump the gun... I'm sorry if it came out that way.
