Angel, I wasn't referring to you or to what you think. I didn't quote you or anything. See. Just to the idea. That's it. :-)

I also fall into the group of thinking Tattoos have deeper meaning than just "looking cool" and would only get a tattoo that meant something to me spiritually, philosophically, or personally... meaning, I'd probably never get, I dunno, a bunch of flaming skulls on my arm.

And for those of you who are judgemental enough to say even meaningful tattoos are stupid, I'd like to point our that I'm pretty sure our tribal ancestors had them as well, and I think it would be, dare I say 'cool,' to get one that symbolized that and our heritage... problem is, getting info on ancient Armenian tribes is about as difficult as giving a mexican teenager birth control pills. Is there no where I can find this info??!?!?! Bah!!!!

Well...I guess I have a hard time believing people get it for meaningfull reasons when even the majority of the poeple who say they got it for that go around constantly trying to show it to people (I didn't mention anyone here, so for the love of whatever the hell is important to you, don't anyone come back with some all offended reply). If I do something for myself, I'm not interested in showing it, or letting other people know of it. If people find out, they find out. But I don't go around purposely...oooh, just sorta bringing up the subject while gathered in a public setting, and then when I get asked "why, do you have a tattoo?", act all shocked and go "why yes! Yes I do!" Then wait for the inevitable "let's see". "Ohhhh, I don't know....I don't want to go around showing it and all"......"COME ON! LET'S SEE!"...."Ohhhh, alright!" Yeah.

And SagGal....the only way for something to warrant the title "cool", is for the majority to agree it's "cool", d'uh! GET WITH IT!

I don't have any tatoos, but I fall into the second category of thinking that tattoos have a deeper meaning.

I don't mind someone who'd have a few tattoos here and there, with each one representing a different meaning or having some sort of connection with each other.

But covering your whole body with it is just plain ridiculous.

I agree, there is a point where it gets a bit excessive

ooh, do you have a tattoo? Hu? Do ya? Lets see! I had a friend who did that.

I suppose and I know what you mean. The majority, right, but it's silly though. Maybe deciding if it's cool enough for you. lol. idk.

You mean like this, but all over the body?

                Some are really artistic though.

Those would be the ones, LOL. I mean, they're artistic and all, but I don't want to be a human comic book either.

I'd consider getting one if something meant enough to me to permanently stain my skin with.
