Unless I go tomorrow, I won't have gone this year. I don't even know why I've gone before. You just see dozens of people you don't really care for.

AYF= Armenian Youth Federation. Aka the youth version of ARF. ARF= Armenian Revolutionary Federation. Aka a Tashnagtsagan organization.

Homenetmen. Aka Armenian letters Ho Men Et and Men. Homenetmen= Hay Marmnagrtagan Enthanoor Miootiun. Aka Armenian General Athletic Union & Scouts. They are basically Armenian scouts (which is girls and boys mixed, as opposed to the segregated Boy scouts and Girl scouts of America) and Armenian youth sports teams: basketball, trach and field, ping pong, and I'm not exactly sure what else beacuse I only played basketball. There is a brach in a few cities: Glendale is Homenetmen 'Ararat', the Valley is 'Masis' etc etc etc all the way up to SF and down to SD I think and in other states too. The Navasartian games are playoffs between all of these sports teams and every year on the Fourth of July weekend there are closing ceremonies with the kids marching with their various teams and then lots of kebab and music, etc.

      More info on Homenetmen

I used to be in both AYF and Homenetmen Scouts and Basketball team. I liked it a lot when I was younger and we used to go to the Navasartian opening and closing ceremonies every year. Lately though it's like Hogg said, you just see a bunch of people you don't really want to see, so we don't go anymore.

I don't go anymore either... When I played basketball, I used to every weekend from first game to last game (usually 8am-9pm or 10). Loved it. The closing ceremony wasn't fun.

Who did you play for CK?

They have Fresno, Frisco, La Crescenta (Shant), Orange County, Pasadena... branches everywhere.
Sports include football (soccer), swim, and tennis too.

Every two years or so they have games in Armenia too. I may go next year.

If you did, then I must have known you when I was younger CK. Were you a member when Ararat was on broadway?
