Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

      Yeah, I must be a Neo-Nazi.

ASOD has more talent then any person named "Chingy", "50 Cent", "Ja Rule", and "Gay Z". What is sad is that Armenians are part of pop-culture, but in actuality think they are part of counter-culture. They have become a hand job of corperate America and they do not even realize it.

i mean i loev rock music too, i listen to it and enjoy it, but i dont dress up like a punk rocker and roam around LA and go dye y hair fuschia pink.... but anyway i dont want to be too critical, thats just my opinion- i know im armenian and i cant help the fact that i liek in the US and whether i liek it or not ive adapted dmany ways of american ilfe, but theres a limit to what you adapt to and what you see as a part of your identity and keep...

I don’t think that being a rock star or trying to be one, makes you any less of an Armenian. So what are Armenians supposed to do…hold back from everything, thinking, “oh, we’re Armenians, we can’t do that”..?

Why do we need to criticize other Armenians who are doing something, or anything, outside the imaginary box of being Armenian?

Whether it be being too ‘free’, being too ‘goth’ trying to be a rock star, porn star, pop star. These aren’t cultural; these have to do more with the person’s character, and interests. So it does not make them any less of an Armenian, and it does not make them any more pathetic, or less pathetic than someone of any other culture who has the same interests, or goals.

Stop labeling everything as cultural diminishment.

O.k, let's scratch the porn star part.
(Angelik I don't mean this directly/only for you.)

Actually, Goth and Satanic are two totally different things.. but the thing they do have in common is complete B.S.. I've known lots of Goth through out my life and even became part of that life style for a little while so no one call tell me xxxx about it being a sub-culture that I just don't understand.. it's bullxxxx, 100% no question about it. Being Goth is a way of being an unconformist? of not fitting in? of being anri-establishment? I dunno, what they wear seems more like a uniform to me than what the Army makes their people wear. All they're saying is "notice us, but don't get too close" and they've somehow built a whole "sub culture" around that... which is complete B.S.

Well that's just sad. Not the part about being an atheist... that's fine and your choice and there's nothing wrong with saying "You know, I don't think that invisible guy in the sky actually exists" but there's no honor or dignity in pissing on a bible no matter how you look at it or come at it with the freedom of expression angle. This is coming from a dripping wet liberal. There's nothing cool or statement-making about pissing on a bible, that's simply adolecent behavior towards a subject they don't like. Makes about as much sense as an abused kid writing his father's name on a piece of paper, only to tear that piece of paper in half, then get a new piece of paper and repeat it all over again, thinking he's getting some sort of aggression out, or saying "hey look, I don't listen to you anymore, neener, neener, neener!" I honestly thought we were past this post-marilyn manson bible bashing is cool syndrome. There are so many more, mature ways to show your beef with the holy scriptures.

And yes, even I admit I've been talking about this a little too long for claiming that it's just a stupid act. But seriously, it frustrates me to see people doing things like this and thinking "it's cool"... I'm all for offending people, as long as your making a point with it, but this kind of act is JUST for the sake of offending and some morbid self pleasure and not really teching anyone else about YOUR beliefs or WHY you think disrespecting the bible is right. Again, aren't we older than this yet?
