My first name is Greta. It is German and translates to 'pearl'. I am of no German descent whatsoever, but I suppose my parents thought it would be an edgy and unconventional choice. Personally..I never liked my name. Haha. There are worse for certain though.

Cool name, Greta Garbo - a legend of the silver screen - was immortalized under this name amongst many notables.

are you sure ara means sun? these are some common armenian names which their meanings are related to sun
Arevshad(male name) means Full of Sun
Arev(female name) means sun
Arevalous and Arpi(female names) means sun light
but never heard ara to mean sun
i can speak armenian and as far as i know it mean something else

Absolutely Ara(y) is a form of AR - the Sun God and Armen(ian) simply means the Children or People of AR (Armen or Arman) the Sun God.

Arev, Aregak, Arpi all mean Sun and have the root AR (Ararich - Creator).

I looked in a latin dictionary. Vigile =is a stick.The censors whipped the pupils. (My grand'mother's teacher had asked her to bring a stick to hit the hand of the naughty pupils. my grand-mother brought a stick, and the teacher tried it on her. She rememberd very well 70 years later and said I never again brought a stick to her)
it may be also a critic now. As we don't whip the children.
