Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

[QUOTE=Siggie]I don't know if these you'll find these helpful, but I look at successful shots of others a lot to get a better understanding of what works and what doesn't. Find out what they did to get the effect they did, etc.
Here are 3 very nice "Nature" shots. They are not mine.

This image is photoshoped or something, looks like a painting.. the sky in the backround...??/ what exactly is it? and the golden colors on the plants.. where is tht coming form in such a dark picture??? but.. ofcourse it looks surreal, and very nice..
and, the other two images.. yes.. places like that still exist.. Been to some of the most beautiful scenery in the lower half of California, and within the Sequoia forest, i have found breathtaking places.. where yu just have to shut off the engine of the bike, sit there and try to take in the fresh air and beauty!... you can never fully take in your surroundings. and miss it as soon as you see some highway. lol.How do you hurt a masochist?

narekoo - dude ur pics are cool- but ill give u some constructive criticism- i liked em all- but the last one was the best- cause the former - in my opinion- u focused on the wrong stuff- some of the out of focus objects get in the way and distort the whol image- but otherwise i thought u did an awesome job- keep up the good work- o btw im not sure if maybe your whole purpose was intended- to only focis on a lil segment of the pbject- if so i guess i misinerpreted it-- otherwise thats awesome- photography is awesome- now i wanna go rip out my nikon and go take some shots in the rain/ of the droplets on my windsheild when m driving- hmmmm lets see how i can manage to do that without running someone over...heheheh

Yay! More sharing! You're getting better!
I hope you don't think I don't like any of your pics because that's not the case. I'm just trying to point out how each one might be improved. Even fantastic shots can have a teensy things that could have been improved.
1) Altoids! Love the idea. You set them up well. Looks like a professional ad except for one thing. It's too dark. You can't see the product.
2) Eh...not interesting. Just a bulb.
3) Again. Not enough there to be interesting. Maybe if it was casting more light there'd be the light and dark contrast.
4) Good. A little bit cramped. Maybe get the whole wheel.
5) There's the wheel! But that's too much wheel. I can tell you were focusing on the wheel here for two reasons. The DOF is set so that only the wheel is in focus. In this shot, it doesn't work. Go to a higher f-stop, so the name and badge are in focus too. Second... you tried to put the wheel in center and have that dead space to the left. Don't try to put things in the center! It's uninteresting compositionwise most of the time. Stop it! It doesn't need to be in the center for it to be the center of attention. There are other ways to bring our eyes to it.
6) Eh... center again.
7) I don't know about these ground pix... It's so busy that my eye just wanders around and doesn't know where to go.
8) Looks like a car trader magazine pic. There's a portapotty in the background, parking lines on the ground... The car doesn't dominate. If you get on the ground and look up at the car more, it'll change the perspective and make the car more dominant. It's hard to find good location.
9) The slant works... I like it. If you could remove it from that location, w/ the lines, trees, and other cars, it'd be perfect.
10) Great idea! This is more my style. This would look awesome against a neutral solid color background.
if you dont mind... i'm gonna tinker with your pictures a little bit in PS to try and show you what I mean in a few of these.
You're doing great though! Keep shooting.[COLOR=#4b0082][B][SIZE=4][FONT=trebuchet ms]“If you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.”
