  • Still Living At Home

What are your thoughts on the subject. I know the rule of Armenians to only move out when you get married, but why? Also, girls are forbidden to move out unless they go to school out of state? WHYYYYY?

If I wasn't so attached to my mother, I would have moved out in a heart beat. She relies on me for everything, and I can't just leave her. But, I'm 23!! I want my own independent life.

EEK sparked an interest in the subject for me...what do you think I should do, seeing as how I'm not getting married ANYTIME SOON!

Yea, I know. I can't do that. I seriously need to live alone though. I wish I could. God, I hate people who have the easy life!

        Just picture this scene...

You mother walks out of the kitchen and says: "Violette, I'm going to make a sandwich, do you want anyth" AND THEN she notices there's nobody there.

I moved out and I didn't go out of state to school. I just didn't want to be a commuter and boy am I glad I did it. Moving out was the best experience ever. Moving back IN, on the other hand, was a pretty hard thing to do. However, all things considered, such as the amount of time I spend not at home and the fact that as long as I spend some time every week at home with my family I can go out as long as I come back at a reasonable hour (or I can just stay over my friends' place) I rather prefer living at home. It's a great way to save money I would otherwise be throwing away on a place I'd only go to sleep at. Also, if I had my own place I would probably choose to sleep (yes, just sleep) over at my bf's place more often. Which, in turn would be bad two-fold. One, that would be a complete waste of money on my apartment I'd never be at, and two I'd end up spending way too much time with the bf, and that might not be such a great idea.... So, yeah, until I go out of state to graduate school and/or get married, I'm actually fine with living at home as long as I can get away and be with friends and no family on weekends, because mom dad sister and grandparents can get to be a bit much sometimes.

Oh I don't have any rules and I'm not regulated in my house by anyone. I can come and go as I please. It's just a different feeling when you're living alone. I wanna come home to a clean, empty house, created by me. Now, everyday I have to go home, clean, make sure there's dinner, if not, I have to cook...It's just getting to me.

Ck: You definitely shouldn't think about it. Especially if your bf has a place of his own, it's gonna be a total waste. I get what you mean..
