Plus it doesnt look good for people to open a little envelope with a card under a big christmas tree

For the present, is the supervisor male/female? hobbies? collector?
Gift cards are not necessarily the bad and/or thoughtless gift idea you guys make them out to be... Example: I got my sister two gift cards this year, one for American Eagle and the other for Urban Outfitters. I know that she wears clothes from both these places but she is very picky and also her sizes vary so I never know is she is a small or medium (I don't even know my exact size in every store because stores can vary a lot!) so rather than subject her to standing in line to return things, I just got her gift cards so she can shop as she desires. I don't really just put them under the tree in a little card either. She has to work for it! So I stiched them into a teddy bear.

My parents are born in November (20 and 22) so I just got them gifts for their birthdays, now I am at a loss as to what to get them for Christmas. Any suggestions?

While you're at it, what should I get my brother??

I am also not so sure about how this workplace gift etiquette thing works. Anyone have any idea?

Well, for the workplace, I think it all depends on how close you are to your coworkers/boss. I have 1 coworker and 1 boss, who basically owns this whole company. My coworker and I are very close, like friends, we hang out outside of work...so, I would have to get her something more personal. My boss, he's into the Godfather and Scarface, so maybe I could get him something for his office with a mobster theme. (my entire conference room is FILLED with autographed Scarface stuff...he even had a chair made just like Tony's....dork) Anywho...so yea I dont think I helped you with that, just try to find out what they like...

As for your parents, that sucks that both of their bday's are in Nov. LOL For Christmas, I'm getting my mom and I a day at a spa in Orange County. I heard it's the best. If you want details, I can find out for you...I used to buy my dad cigars, even though he never smoked them..he used to collect them.

My supervisor is an older woman... she's is about 62. She is very religious and she's Philipino. She's into plants. I would get her a nice plant but she has so many. There's like no more room in her office for anything else. I don't know why but I feel uncomfortable getting her lotions or body washes or stuff like that. I was thinking of getting her like a nice scarf...but thats too little.

...a nice beaded scarf would be perfect for her. It's an evening look, and it's elegant. I got one from Guess. It's brown with these tiny beads on it. VERY VERY NICE! How about perfume? For an older lady, I suggest Chanel or Sensi by Armani.

As for all the other co-workers, all the close ones are all women, I'm going to get them these cozy cute slippers from Macy's and those cute little perfumes they have at Victorias Secret... the ones that are in the ornaments. And for everyone else on my floor (there's about 50 people), I'm going to give them each a card and some sort of candy.

I think I'll go with the scarf... she likes scarves. I got her perfume for her birthday

Oh and another thing I love about the Holidays... office parties... you get to party during work and get paid for it . It starts with Thanksgiving and like every week a different department has a party... and then there's a huge party for the whole building... It's so fun

I'm not so sure about that... This year, during the "building" Christmas Party, they are making all the men dress up like elf's... for what I don't know.

And besides... all my co-workers tend to get kind of heavy during this time of year... I think its from all the parties
