Goths: damn cool or plainly pathetic?

There was a special on Satanism the other night on the History Channel, and we had a very long thread about it here some time back. Satanists do not actually believe in the existence of Satan or of any other supernatural character. They simply use the symbolism to mock Christianity and other deity-based systems. They are atheists.

As far as goths are concerned, let 'em be. I've met goths that were idiots and I've met goths that were pretty damn cool. Just like any other group of people.

As far as my opinion on the topic (and this has been said before most likely, in one form or another), it is pretty funny how, in the quest for uniqueness, they end up being just another trend follower. Same goes for punks and any other "groupie".
