And yes, we are paralized during REM to prevent acting things out.

I know how freaky is that! I learned that like within the past year or something, that our muscles are all totally paralyzed or something during REM. Very rarely, some people have woken up during REM and been completely frozen and have really freaked out from that. They all said it's like the most horrifying thing they ever experienced, and I think they hallucinate during that too. Some experts say this is really what some people think are alien abductions (in cases of being abducted out of their bed).

Haha, I love those abduction stories.

I heard of a case a few years ago in the US where a man sleepwalkingly: got into his car, drove to his in-laws' house, murdered them both with a kitchen knife, drove back home, went back to sleep, and didnt realize something had happened until he woke up and saw blood on his hands.
Guess his muscles unparalized at an unfortunate time...

I have had some really odd dreams, however, most of mine seem to be about heaven and hell. I have seen some scary sh*t in some of my dreams.

Heaven and Hell...I dont have that problem. We all see scary and confusing and pleasant dreams, it would be weird if one did not.

this is confusing me...can dreams foreshadow/predict things...I just seen something in my dream yesterday and it actually happened today...actually happened. Not exactly, but the same concept and all that. This was a radom thing...no way was I thinking about it and new the next day there would be a chance of that happening.

Thai-Samurai: Well, the only resemblance between the evil in my dream and that drawing are the black eyes and maybe the shape of the head. Hmmm.

Emil jan, yes it is very scary and I hope it goes away.

hmmm....I studied a book in class where one of the characters has a similar dream as yours.Like biting of the neck, you not being able to move/fight back, references of evil, it approaching you from behind, the teeth....these are all similar with your dream. Anyway, the character in the story was having that dream cause this guy liked her and she didn't...they guy was kinda evil too. She had things going on around her back and what not.

by the way I wrote an essay on that book and went in a bit more detail with that character's dream. If you want that part of the essay ak me I'll pm it to you.

Narina, this is a night terror, its very normal. A dream where you are awoken by something "evil" and cant escape and realize that you cant move or scream.

Ive had it two times in my life. In my dream there was a witch in my bedroom.

The only thing that concerns me is that you are having it so often.

I have too. A priest here in the city I live in, said that it is linked to one specific thing. That they are signs of my conciounse. And that I should be aware of how I should be living my life, in the right way. And the results of the negative way.
