    Body suspension anyone?

    Ok am I dreaming or do people really do this? I mean they actually pay to have someone put hooks in their bodies and hang them up for 'spiritual' reasons???
    Bunch of psychos...

    What is suspension?
    The act of suspension is hanging the human body from (or partially from) hooks pierced through the flesh in various places around the body.

    There are many different reasons to suspend, from pure adrenaline or endorphin rush, to conquering ones fears, to trying to reach a new level spiritual consciousness and everything in between. In general, people suspend to attain some sort of "experience".

    Some people are seeking the opportunity to discover a deeper sense of themself and to challenge pre-determined belief systems which may not be true. Some are seeking a right of passage or a spiritual encounter to let go of the fear of not being whole or complete inside their body. Others are looking for control over their body, or seek to prove to themselves that they are more than their bodies, or are not their bodies at all. Others simply seek to explore the unknown.

    Many people believe that learning how one lives inside ones body and seeing how that body adapts to stress -- and passes through it -- allows one to surrender to life and explore new realms of possibility. While some people are seeking something spiritual, others are just looking to "do it" and the sense of accomplishment is enough for them.

        I think we should introduce them to this forum. They won't get bored and go hang themselves from hooks anymore. Trust me (no, not because I stopped hanging myself from hooks as soon as I found this forum)!

          Oh, and I hate rotwilers ( Lol, I am not sure if that is how they are spelt) they are the most scariest dogs out there next to dobermin pinchers. They are mean too, however they make great securitey pets.

            Eeeew. There's some guy who actually travels and gives talks and demonstrations of this. I'll try and find his name.
            Someone I know saw a presentation he gave. They all walked into the auditorium and this guy was like hanging there totally nude.
            He'd also gotten cranes and things and hung out of high rises and stuff.
            Weird stuff, definitely.

              Spiritual purposes? Sounds like they are bored. Seriously, what is spiritual about self mutilation?

              I have a rottweiler, Cookie, and she is so cute and not mean at all unless someone makes a motion like they are going to hit any member of my family. She freaks out when she thinks my brother is trying to hit me. It's hilarious. Good dawg. Anyway, otherwise she loves everyone and will lick you to death, not bite you!

                yeah, cause being nude is probably more 'spiritual', lol... Actually I have a picture of a naked man hanging, I don't think it's appropriate to post it here lol but so sick!

                How can you hate rottweilers????? They're too darn cute and annoying, hehe... I don't know why they got the reputation they did, seriously?
                Mine is an angel (as long as he's the only dog around ) No but seriously, once you meet Rocky(my dog) ohh and Cookie lol, your whole perseption of rottweilers will change.

                    Once, many years ago, I was flipping channels and happened across a guy getting ready to pick up 2 cinder blocks by some hoops/rings..... that were peirced through his nipples. After he did the trick and the audience was applauding, the announcer goes "give it up for 'Eddie (or something like that, not positive on the name), the crazy Armenian'"! =|

                    Folks....you just can't make this stuff up.....
