I was reading in Time and they found that Senator Kerry and President Bush are related as ninth cousins twice removed... who would have ever thought!

But wait... it gets better....

Both are related to Vlad III Dracul (born 1431, also known as Dracula), who ruled Transylvania and southern Romania as a macabre warlord, later fictionalized in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel 'Dracula.'

"For Kerry, the strange relation goes back 34 generations to connect with Dracula, but Bush is actually more closely related to the Transylvanian dictator, taking only 32 generations to connect.

The funny thing is that some older articles, such as this one from Times (not Time) say they are 16th cousins, three times removed. I guess they were able to find a closer link after that report.

This MSN article from the same time as the above Times article says the same thing. This article goes on further to say "Hugh Hefner is the president's ninth cousin, twice removed"
