My English will help me with the Germanics, my Russian will help me with the Slavics, and my French will help me with the Romances. Armenian is just a special case you could say
You already know German Russian & French (besides English & Armenian)? How well? If so I think you are well on your way...
BTW - my Grandmother could speak fluently(& perhaps write) - Armenian, Turkish, Russian, English, French, Greek and Italian!
I think your idea of teaching (being certified for) English as a second language is a good one. And it is also a good idea (IMO) to break up your studies and go out and experience life & the world - give yourself soem perspective - then you will have a much better foundation for proceeding with the rest of what you've got...
I am fluent and literate in English and Russian. I am intermediate and literate in French. I am elementary in Armenian. I will be studied them for my BA and studying abroad for French and Armenian for practice. After that I will surely take every chance to pick up other languages, since it gets easier the more you already know.
what you gotta do is learn exactly what you want to learn, what you have a passion for. And then just have faith that your life will guide you to the job you're really going to like. Even if it's not on the list of jobs your major can do.
I wanted to tell you this before when you mentioned majoring in Armenian studies, but didn't wanna dissapoint you . We all, to some extent, would love to just study about our culture and history, but the reality is there isn't money in it. Unless you go all the way, and make it as a university professor or something, but still... you don't have that many options and back ups. But if it really interests you, you can minor in lets say anthropology. I don't know what you like, so I can't really help you choose a major. But I think, from what I've seen, you would make a good lawyer . Find out if your college has a program that helps you choose a major.
Ditto. Catwoman took the words right outta my mouth.
I honestly think you would make a great lawyer as well Armobarbie. If you don't want to go with that route, see if you're college has a program that helps on choosing majors.
Are you just starting college or are you transfering? If you're just starting, then take your general ed stuff and decide later because you don't know now.
