Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

So Psycho is a waste of time, because its b/w right? and so is Raging Bull, On the Waterfront, and anything that Charlie Chaplin did. Does your theory apply to telelvision as well? I Love Lucy, The Addams Family, The Munsters, Bewitched, and Superman to name a few. If The Godfather was in black and white, would you say it was a bad film??

The thing is, is that the generation of today would rather have hollywood force feed them easy to consume, generic movies than actually spending their time on films that have meaning and require you to think a little than just simply watch a movie.

You might not enjoy it because you didn't like the film, or the actor, but its really narrow minded to say that the use of color in a film determines if its good or not.
aman Asdvadz. Is everybody in PMS or xxxxx mode lately? some ppl don't like black and white movies. It's not very dramatic.

And it's not as if Hollywood was making black and white movies to make you use your imagination, they just didn't know how to make colour movies.

You know, I don't like bananas cause the effort of peeling and taking out that icky stuff is just not worth it. After all, it's only a fruit, not a key to Heaven.

So, what I'm trying to say is, let Jahannam watch generic movies like Spiderman, while you dissect all the meaningful messages of Superman.

Wanna be my partner? I have been deeply moved by many of the things you've said. Like the time you called somebody "Jello". Wow. Pure genius.

Once again, I am enlightened. How DO you do it?
Yes, it certainly is time for me to learn some basic english. Thanks for giving me a boost.

No but seriously, why the attitude in every post? Does it give you illusions of superiority or popularity?

Precisely my point. This place is to TALK to other people. Not xxxxx for no obvious reason. Buy a punching bag to relieve your stress. THEN come here and have fun. Reading your messages telling me that I'm an idiot and I will die and you're the best is not really my idea of fun.

And I had promised myself not mention your english, but that opportunity was just handed on a silver platter.

ever heard of something called respecting opinions??? I mean just cuz I think classical music is THE best, doesn't mean I'm gonna go around convincing hiphop and rock fans to listen to classical and tell them that they don't "use their minds" and that they're "narrow minded" if they refused it?? there's a reason people use Office word instead of typewriters and microwaves instead of open fires...and except for some classic car collectors, people refuse to buy OLD cars. you happen to be a collector. not everyone is.
so tell me. do you also develop your pictures in black and white so that you could improve your imagination by trying to figure out "what the actual setting must look like"?
guess what... I improve my imagination by reading and writing and drawing. I only use movies to ENTERTAIN myself. let's see... isn't that why it's called the "entertainment industry"?? coincidence.

you sound like one of those people that approach you on the streets and convince you that Jesus is the only way out. lol
you know what? I happen to like "meaningless" movies like Braveheart and Sound of music and Good Will Hunting and City of Angels and What Dreams May Come.
STOP PREACHING. cuz, I'm sorry to say, that would make YOU narrow minded.

                    lol

I'm not trying to convince anyone to do anything. Its a forum, its my opinion and I can say whatever the hell I want, just like you. You can ignore it, or respond. Im not saying anyone is narrow minded for not watching black and white movies; im saying the fact that you said "they're a waste of time unless you're a film major" is. Why do you think they're a waste of time? I'd like to know.

One of the reasons I even put up a post in the first place was of my complete shock at the fact that you really didn't have any idea who he was. You asked. I answered.

and btw all the movies you mentioned are actually not meaningless, theyre some of the best.
