so wait, of all the people on this forum, our bio major (i think...) is the one who asks this question?

artificial flavors are made just like any other chemical compounds. i'm sure there's a way to replicate the flavor of the human flesh just by finding its chemical composition and not necessarily tasting it.

Just isolate whatever in the flesh binds to taste receptors, then manufacture a molecule with the same shape. A great project for chemistry geeks from Dartmouth.

This would taste good with ranch dip.

In keeping with the idea of this little 'project' I was just joking, I expect you of all people might have caught that.

To be honest, if it weren't for the "why does s/he/it know" part in your reply, I'd believe that you were in fact "joking." However, now I think that you're just trying to redeem yourself. No worries, we don't judge. (feel special, i rarely use smileys).

Darn, and I thought for sure the 'it' part would give it away. It's ok, you tried. The rare use of a smiley on your part hardly makes me feel special. If it did, I'd have bigger problems than trying to 'convince' you I was joking. Whatever makes you feel better though.

Next time, I will add more smileys to certain posts, for the sarcasm/joking impaired.

              (happy?)

the exact reaction i want. you give

(haha, i just remembered how cheesey star trek was and that little green dude's grammar just cracks me up).

just as a sidenote, if anyone here thinks i'm sarcasm/joking impaired (whether in efforts to justify/redeem themself or whatever), then "s/he/it" must be misinterpreting a whole lot of my posts. gosh, what am i to do?

Glad to be of service, I'm having a boring day anyway and can't wait to leave to pack for vacation.

As for "s/he/it" it is possible for two very different people to use it to have two very different meanings: as in serious or sarcastic. Imagine that!

Anyway you can be sure I wasn't pointing you, or anyone else for that matter, out as being sarcastically imapried. I just like the phrase. Almost as much as I love the word vainglory. Ahh vainglory vainglory vainglory. Don't you just love the way it rolls off your tongue?

                    Carry on.
