Ankap - Angry at the Mayans for a false prediction? POST YOUR GRIEVANCES HERE!
I just read the whole title of this thread, how I missed it before, baffles me. LOL.
I ran 20+ miles this week. My body hurts but it was good to push myself.
Will you be following the instructions of the title too?
Good job! Make sure you allow time for recovery (that's where you get stronger). I'm up to about 20/wk now, but had to scale back last week because I was insanely busy with work stuff. I got 10 in between Friday and yesterday though, so it didn't feel like a completely "lost" week. I may have gotten another one or two in Friday, if my feet weren't screaming in pain. Earlier in that same run, I got stung by a bee that took a wrong turn and flew up my dress; I should have taken it as a sign and turned back.
I have another busy week, but going to shooting for 20 this week (M-Su; x,5,x,5,x,x,10) by having to cram half that into my long run. I need to add a day or something because I need to crank up the mileage to be able to hit my Jan/Feb race goal.

That is such a yucky question to ask! LOL.
Thank you.
My goodness that was a huge challenge! But, so awesome, good for you, makes me want to run more.
I can't seem to do more then 4.1 miles, after that my body shuts down, and my head feels like bricks are being thrown at it, but I've ran more in the last month then in the last year, so I think I'm doing very well. I joined a group where we are going to run 200 miles by the end of September. There are some veteran runners and beginners, but its nice "trying" to keep up with them. They are so dedicated it really make me want to work even harder, but I have to go by my own pace.
A little over 5k today, and now finally resting. Good luck with your race goal!!!

The trick is to slow it down and add distance slowly. If 4.1 is max you're able to do, then try for 4.5 at a slower pace. Speed will come after distance (e.g. when you train to run 15k, your 5k time will naturally get faster).
