My friend, Art, a member of the Menominee Nation/tribe, stopped by my place again tonight.

The Menominee have (on their ‘reservation’) the BEST example of sustainable forestry in the world. I’ve wrote about the great things the Menominee (Wisconsin) do, long before Art became my neighbor. Ecologists, foresters, etc… admire the Menominee practices. You can see (clearly!) the boundaries of the reservation in satellite images. The Menominee know “This place is our home, forever.” They act accordingly. I'm sure the US lands would be better cared for in Native American (or any culture that holds 'Mother Earth' as just as important as 'Father Sky') hands. More later…
