Ankap - Angry at the Mayans for a false prediction? POST YOUR GRIEVANCES HERE!
I still have to wash the dishes, clean the litterbox, & dry my clothes.
BUT I MAY MISS SOMETHING HERE IF I LEAVE!!!
First, you NEED to do whatever you NEED to do. This will be here whenever you get back. You can always listen to the radio while doing that (any local channel where you live... better if a community supported station or the like, if you want to hear US)
But know not all you hear is US if you aren't listening to where I send you.
NOTICE (in the Ben & Jerry's Oreo link) just HOW much tax money supports war. Yet WE can't provide universal health care? get books to inner city schools? pay teachers a decent wage? ... THAT OFFENDS ME. I believe we must begin to demand that our taxes are not used to fund violence--but rather needs of people.
ALSO, WE CANNOT ALLOW BUSH TO GO TO WAR WITH IRAN!
I just went on a shopping spree—at the thrift shop. I got summer wardrobes for my daughter and I (about 10 quality items): $14.00 total cost (before taxes—why do thrift stores have to charge tax? Double taxation?)
“We are one of the world’s largest nonprofit providers of education, training, and career services for people with disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness, and lack of education or work experience, as well as those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. ."
I get things I need or want and help others at the same time. Plus those items aren't going to a landfill and I'm not supporting child labor, rampant consumerism, environmental destruction, etc.
Don't feel like you have to read this book (or even the commentary), but you (Anonymouse) are the only person here (so far) who might fully appreciate it. This book is a post-Marxist twist on issues and theory--but it is VERY dense and academic. It is a difficult read. Only those who have studied issues like those you and I 'debate' would fully understand and get it.
Synchronicity is a word coined by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung to describe the "temporally coincident occurrences of acausal events." Jung spoke of synchronicity as an "acausal connecting principle" (i.e., a pattern of connection that cannot be explained by direct causality). Plainly put, it is the experience of having two (or more) things happen coincidentally in a manner that is meaningful to the person or persons experiencing them, where that meaning suggests an underlying pattern. It differs from coincidence in that synchronicity implies not just a happenstance, but an underlying pattern or dynamic that is being expressed through meaningful relationships or events.

Acausal? I don't think, always.
I think I'm now going to "call' every BODY, BABY--on my radio phone, and other 'phones' too.
She calls me baby. She calls everybody baby.--John Mellancamp
All children of GOD/NATURE are just that. BABIES of the creator/creation.
Drive your 'car'... who/what drives your car/body?
TESTIFY, or is that 'test if I?'
