Right, if the "r" is at the beginning of the word, it will sound like "h" in english, but "h" has no sound in portuguese...that's why I didn't understand what you were saying...homosexual is pronounced as "omosexual", not "romosexual".

i am used to sleeping in 90-100F at night with no fan even (and need to use a blanket due to insects, yuck), so i am very very happy to have at least a fan.

I'm used to that too, not only on summers, but the rest of the year (in Brazil even on winter is warm), but at least back home the air is more humid than here...here I can't ^&$%@#$ breath and I have gotten all these allergies...so I have to use a humidifier otherwise I snore...LOL
