                    Don't take what I said too seriously. I was just messing around.

                    And how am I on my own? I guess I'm on my own with my music, considering I write, record, mix, and produce all my songs. Most people can't even do one, yet I do it all myself. Making a CD - a career, if you will - from scratch.

                    My job is more than making words rhyme. It's a whole lot more, and you'll see on my songs.

                    I guess that's how "I hold my own".

                      I just never understood the expression. More commonly it is used as a cliche and carries no concrete definition, but it holds significance to some.
