  • Why are they still there?

I don't understand... the U.S. military supposedly "freed" Iraq from whatever...
what the hell are they still doing there?
    "maintaining" the freedom?

Well, I do think that there should be a military presence in Irak right now, but an international one, backed by the UN. Irak is in a deplorable state right now, and until a police force and stable government are organized, international peacekeepers must be there. I do not agree with the way the US has been handling things though, the checkpoint idea they had has caused many civilian deaths. A general was even saying that it wasn't the best of ideas, but they're going to maintain it. After all, it's only gonna cause "collateral damage" right? Nothing serious....ugh...

It's really easy you see. There is a word to describe that. It's properly referred to as...

      IMPERIALISM.

so you guys think Iraq's gonna end up being this "cool americanized" place in the near future? where no one speaks arabic? and theres all kinds of big hotels and stores and McDonalds and KFCs and stuff? even though it's right in the middle of the middle east?
        that would so suck!

          Nope.

There is now an ongoing guerilla war movement developing in Iraq and the U.S. is suffering more casualties now than it did during the so called "war".

This will be costly, as the lies of Bush are already surfacing, yet a gullible American public continues to cower and buy into whatever lies Bush and Co. can regurgitate. It's a sickening scene.

I see Irak turning into what Afghanistan is now, while the US takes care of the oil...

The US did not go there to have a democratic ally, they don't really care about the democracy (Kuwait is a fine example), they'll just turn the country more vulnerable as they take advantage of it. Or am I too sceptical?
